After worrying all week about the appointment today it turned out to be nothing at all. All they wanted to know was whether I could drive a car and what my last job was so that it could be entered on the DHSS computer for future reference.. Even I got through those questions with no trouble and was out again within minutes.
I hear on the news that two more Suffolk based members of our military forces have been killed in the last few days (one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan). Once again my problems seem insignificant compared to grief of their families. At least Mick was safe and secure in my arms as he said farewell to this life.
On a brighter note; today was the wedding day of Mick's niece Sarah......may she and Ben have many long years of happiness ahead of them.

I'm so glad your fears about the appointment were unfounded Ruth. You are so right - there is always someone worse off than yourself when you really think about it. That doesn't make your problems less real though honey. x

What a relief, just routine.
I do agree with you about the continuous flow of these announcements from Afhgan. & Iraq. Because of Auds' Pat & your own relative, it has made it much closer. I find it unbearable everytime they show their pictures on the news, everyone of them so good-looking, healthy and wasted. And now today, that so pretty young girl in Manningtree. So much viciousness, it is really sickening.

I believe it hasn't yet been confirmed that the body found is Natasha but the chances seem likely that it is. Whoever it may be it is another young life cut short before her time.

Im glad the appointment went well Ruth, the letters are always so formal and have those serious overtones, always seems ten times worse when people feel vulnerable anyway.

My heart sinks every time I hear of another young life lost, the grief of those families. Watching a video of a young Iraqi journalist speak and say " we lived in fear under Sadams government, now we live in fear of everyone " Such a waste of lifes and I pray for those good men who risk working for peace out there in all ways shape and form

Much love to you xxx Auds

I'll add my two cents about being glad the appointment was just routine. It's like being called into the Principal's office, isn't it? Even if you know you haven't done anything wrong, there's still this vague sense of doom. I know you're glad it's over and done with!!
