WORDS FOR MICK

I've wanted to find a way of posting the booklet that Denise and some of my blogfriends compiled. This is the best I can do and in no way compares to the real thing. It is fitting that today should be the day to post it...the support of all my blogfriends since October 2006 has meant so much to me. I have also posted the order of service which will start at 2pm .....it is my way of having you all there beside me. Click on the photo below to view.

I am happy to lead the way into this day, the day which is poignant for you, and eternally momentous in the life in this country that I live in, 25th April.
I have read through everything, it is simply magnificent and a huge testament to you, to your family and to Mick and the dignity, sheer guts and grit with which you fought to make all of his last months, weeks and days as bearable, comfortable, peaceful as they could possibly be.
That we should have shared it, that we should have helped make it even the tiniest bit easier for you to shoulder your burden, has been an honour.
When you are gathered there later today, the whole world that we represent wil be there with you.
Dearest Ruth & all of the family, that is no small, insignificant achievement. It is no more than a reflection of the pure gold woman you are. But there we will be, come 2 pm this afternoon. And beyond, whenever, however you need it. You receive what you give. And you ARE a gift. May mick's soul rest in blissful peace.
With my love, admiration & appreciation.

Dear friend, these two last post with words for you and Mick show all the love that you both have awoken by being such great people. They are beautiful posts, thank you for sharing those words with all of us.
It's 25th there now and you and your family are in my mind and in my heart. I'll be with you all the time in this day and always.
Lots of love, your friend Ani

I agree totally with Icarus!
My thoughts are with you today and if your get together after the funeral is anything like my fathers was, you will have so many laughs, remembering and recalling, in the comforting folds of a loving family! Don't feel guilty for the laughter it is not what Mick would want he wants all of you to remember him as he was!
Thinking of you all today!

Thinking of you today Ruth, and I want you to know how proud I am to say I 'know' you.
You and Mick were a very special couple, and we are all richer for you having shared your story.
Thank you for your generosity and for teaching us all the meaning of unconditional love.

Hi Ruth

I've just read Icarus's message ... he has put in his own words what I was saying in that quote I left in my post for you ... when I gave you the Biblical quotation on love. You have embodied that scripture for me and (far more so, of course) for Mick. As you put him to rest today in peace my thoughts are with you and so many others'... as I said before, I'm glad you're not alone and have the full support of a great family...
... with love and hugs ...
