THIRD TIME LUCKY

Gledwood has kindly nominated this blog for another Thinking Blogger Award..that makes 3 here now so I'm really chuffed........thanks Gleds.

I'm having problems staying on line for too long so this and the tag on my Bee's Eye View blog will have to be my last tag/memes for a while. I'm having to limit my pc time to half hour stints or my PC switches itself off which is making it hard for me to visit you all AND write my posts as well.

Now I have to do some presenting.....hopefully I'll be able to get round to all your comment boxes and let you know you've been nominated before I'm offline again!!!!! I hope the following will accept the award and pass it on to 5 more blogs.

I'VE BEEN TAGGED!

I've been tagged by Blue the Spa Girl; she has been very patient waiting for these answers

1. One of your favorite dreams, that you can remember. What was it like?
I'm more inclined to remember my nightmares than my dreams. I did have one recurring dream when I was a teenager.....typical Mills and Boon stuff. I dreamt that I was a very young looking secret agent and had to go into a school undercover as a student of 16 in order to find out which of the teachers was head of a Drugs Cartel. In my dream the really dishy English teacher fancied me and I fancied him back. Of course nothing could happen because I was supposed to be a student and he was a teacher. In the end he LEFT the school as he could not bear to be near me without letting his passion loose!!! After I'd caught the Drugs Baron (don't ask me how!...in my dream that bit got left out) I was able to track him down; tell him the truth of my age and .....the next scenes have been censored by Blogger.
2. You are given a large blank canvas. What do you paint?

Ummmm...being no artist I'd probably have to transfer a "paint by numbers" scene on the canvas..a deserted tropical island I think....what fabulous plants I would find!
3. You can use one word to describe your essence. What is the one word?
One word!!!!........that's a tough one....."TRYING" (in the sense of hoping to achieve...not in the sense of a pain in the butt!!(I hope!)
4. I am giving you a plane ticket to anywhere in the world. Where are you flying? Who are you taking with you?
I'd have to sell it on eBay....I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be than at home with loved ones.
5. What is your favourite song of all time. Why do you like it?
It has to be Lionel Richie's Hello....Mick and I fell in love to it......need I say more???.

NOW I HAVE TO THINK UP QUESTIONS FOR OTHER PEOPLE!!!!!....watch this space...it may take some time!!!!

EVENING NEWS

Would have normally told you about this in my post tomorrow but I'm so thrilled that I just had to share it tonight.

LOOK

Mick has eaten every scrap of his dinner with NO CHOKING! Isn't that wonderful!! I admit it wasn't a massive meal, some chicken, brussels and a roast potato and I had pureed each item up (individually)....but it's the most he's eaten all week in one go.

As good things are reputed to come in threes, I'll just mention a couple more goodies;

Nicole, one of our grandaughters has been chosen as an Ambassador for her school and is going to visit Cambridge University for the day on Tuesday; she gained this accolade by doing so well in her lessons.

This is the girl who tells us that she is hopeless at school and that all the teachers don't like her!!!!!....yeh right Nicole...who are you trying to kid!!! (Thanks to Andi for this photo he took)

And last but by no means least; I've won another award!!!!!!!
this one is courtesy of Women On The Verge...... They had to choose 5 blogs out of all the blogs they visit.......they just couldn't make the decision so it was a "out of the hat" choice. This makes it all the more special because it means that Lady Luck is looking down on me.

Now where's that lottery ticket?

UPDATE;

Seems I now have to pick 5 blogs; the price of fame....lol

With so many to choose from I opted for the "out of a hat" choice;

First out of the hat was.......

OOPS!!!!!...wrong hat

That's better......right the winners are...in no particular order.......

Libby at Woodlands World

Merle at Third try

Mauigirl at Mauigirl's Meanderings

Ruby at Living In Bury St Edmunds

Gleds at Gledwood Vol 2

Congratulations...now you have to choose 5!!!!....but it's worth because you now all have one of these!!!!!

CHUFFED TO BITS!

This is definitely one of those "I'll never forget" days.....first there is the exciting news that Talj & Andrew are coming to visit next Saturday and now Gene, another of my blog friends, has awarded me this

and given my blog the most wonderful review. I had read his yesterday's post in which he said he intended to give an award and asking for people to put their blogs forward, but never even considered entering mine so this came as a complete surprise! It's doubly special coming from Gene as his blog is so full of wit and humour and BRILLIANT cartoons. I think the first time I ever visited his blog my comment was something along the lines "As soon as I saw the cartoon at the top I just knew I would love your blog"...............I didn't realise then that he was actually the author of the cartoons! Also when your read his blog you come to realise that as well as having a fantastic sense of humour he is also a really lovely guy............when he wrote about how much he missed his wife while she was a way.....it was a real "ahhhhhhhhh" post. I'm sure many of you are already admirers of his....but if his blog has escaped you just click on the award above.

MEME - WHY I BLOG

Sylvia of Life in General and Other Things has tagged me for this meme. So here goes.

  • I started my first blog Me, My Life, My Garden primarily as a record of what what happening in the garden that means so much to Mick and I. I'm very new to computers and it helped me find my way around the keyboard too. Seventeen years ago what either of us knew about gardening could have been written on a postage stamp; now we are the gardening helpline for family and friends. With Mick being so ill I wanted to keep some sort of record of what was happening in the garden in the time that we had left together; something for me to look back on whenever I wanted. Keeping a written diary wouldn't have the same effect; on a blog I could make mistakes, spellcheck, update without crossing out things and add photos.
  • As time went on I wanted to write more about my life caring for Mick. I decided to separate this from my gardening blog because I found that I started having VISITORS and maybe some of them wouldn't particularly want to read about Mick having a bowel movement in the middle of cooing over photos of a Rhododendron in full flowers. So it was that There Are A Million Stories In The Naked City was born.
  • Love A Cosy Unit (an anagram of Can You Solve It) was really started just as a bit of fun. Mick & I have always loved doing cryptic crosswords and I had the idea of doing a crossword clue a day. This slowly evolved and now every once and a while I put a little quiz on there for anyone who fancies dropping by plus there are a few games like Pac Man & Black Jack that I found on Google. My biggest project (for want of a better word) was during the week leading up to Christmas 2006 when every day I put on a different quiz; some for adults and some for children.....I even had a link to Norad so the kids could track Santa on Christmas Eve.
  • My Photo A Day was started mainly because I have got hooked on taking photographs. Seems funny really considering I can take so few photos of the outside world! The problem was I knew that my "happy snaps" could in no way compare to the professional looking photos of most of the Photo A Day Bloggers. I decided that to compensate for this I would try and add a thought provoking quote to each of my photos and hopefully draw the eye away from the flaws in my photography.
  • Our Sky came about because I just love taking photos of the sky! The problem is I can never decide which one to put on my blog as good or bad each photo is special to me; each one is taken on a day that I'm sharing with Mick. Some of the photos on there may be blurred or badly composed but "so what"....it's OUR SKY!
  • My Ruth's Shoots was started because I like to remember (and share) little hints and I tips that Mick & I have picked up during our gardening endeavours. I hoping that over the course of time that other gardenholics like ourselves will leave their own tips (perhaps relating to plants and conditions that we don't have here in England) in my comment box. These I'll post with a link to their own blog and gradually between us all we will build up a Hints & Tips Blog that will relate to gardens from Alaska to Zanzibar.
  • My seventh blog............................no I'm only kidding.......................I've not started that....YET!

I'm not going to tag anyone for this meme; how could I choose between all you lovely people. If you do fancy writing a WHY DO I BLOG post; leave a message in the comment box and I'll add your name to this post.
