I would like to wish a positive birthday my friend. 'Happy', in all the circumstances surrounding you doesn't do it. And if if "H.B." is just a cliché, then it has little value for you. But have a positive birthday, celebrate life, spoil yourself a little, or a lot, because you are a "Special One" who deserves every possible ounce of good that's going. As I believe it's true that we get what we give, then you are going to get rich rewards for all that you've given. It may not compensate, but then these things are not measurable. I hope the sun is shining down on East Anglia today for you and the day brings you all the sweetness it can.
Oh, BTW, it will be late, but what for your letterbox tomorrow or Thursday.
With all my love,

Happy birthday, Ruth. Since I mostly read your main blog, I have spent this morning catching up with this blog since I last read it on the the 23 March. I did not know, therefore, about you losing your darling Mick. You have my deepest sympathy.

Ruth, love the pictures. And the poem - my mother used to say the exact same poem to me when I was little because I am a curlyhead too. "When she was bad she was horrid!" So true of me! ;-)

Would love to learn more about your past in Singapore.

Forgot to add, I saw the young lady. Had to squint a bit and then.... poof! I could see the old lady.

I always see the young woman first, even though I know the old hag is there.

My birthday fell not long after Daddy's death, so I know Happy is not the right word for this birthday. But it is another milestone in your life, filled with much promise for the coming year.

Thinking of you each day, whether I blog or not.
